Crisis Hostage Negotiation – Level II (Intermediate)
will further enhance the knowledge and skills acquired in Crisis/Hostage Negotiation Level I – Basic Course, or its 40-hour equivalent. A more in-depth study of abnormal psychology, subject precipitated homicide, high element negotiation, use of third party intermediaries and interpreters, hostage reactions, and advanced communication techniques will be a primary focus during the course.
Our Level II also includes an in-depth discussion of a deliberate strategy for an integrated intervention based on the REACCT model, as well as a presentation on Negotiating with the Sovereign Citizen Extremist.
Challenging, team-oriented, and scenario-driven practical exercises are an integral part of the course. These realistic scenarios will allow you the opportunity to practice and refine your crisis negotiation skills while applying detailed intelligence, managing risk and developing a meaningful negotiation strategy. This course is not recommended for students with no prior crisis negotiation training.
